Margaret Tarrant was born in Battersea, London, England in 1888.

Her career as a freelance artist spanned 50 years and she died in 1959.

She won several awards whilst training at the art department of Clapham High School, London.

She designed and created cards, calendars and illustrated children's books including Peter's Friends and All Things Bright and Beautiful.
